We Arrived Down Under!

The trip from Chicago to LA went as planned.  We called a cab and this is what they sent. Bob and I took this one and Lydia and Jerry's cab was nearly 15 minutes late. We waited for them, and Jerry paced a lot. 

Our plane trip (LA to Brisbane) was nearly 14 hours, but we were smart to reserve the exit rows, and all four of us enjoyed far more real estate than most others on the flight.

Josh and Abby, Jeff and Chris Beehler met us at the airport. What a nice welcome.

Once we arrived at the Beehler home, we had another welcome gift awaiting us on our bed.

The weather is quite warm and slightly humid. (Think Florida in June.) Recent rains have blessed the area with lush greenery and lovely tropical flowers. Wish I could capture the bird sounds as they truly make the area sound quite tropical.

We chilled out at home (joke as so hot) and tried to keep one another awake for the duration of the day.  We made one fast run over to the construction site where the Beehler's are building a new home.  This beautiful Brisbane skyline is visible from their home site.

Chris's Dad, Ken, and Mum, Trish each made a quick run over to welcome us to Australia for our visit.

We lasted as long as we could possibly stay awake and eventually all crashed quite early.  Tomorrow, we will awaken, fully on Aussie time and ready to be real tourists.
